This Huge Kirk Stemmed Bifurcated was found in Tennessee.
Everyone that has seen is say's it's the LARGEST they have ever seen. It

is well ground. This one is very near if not 1st stage.
It measures a huge 4 5/8" in length. It is colorful

Overstreet Issues!
Description: Killer
Kirk Stemmed Serrated - This super Kirk is reported to be from Marshall
County, Kentucky, which would be near Benton & Kentucky Lake. It
is a near perfect example of the type which is probably why Bob
Overstreet used it so often. It is pictured in five Overstreet
issues that I know of; #8 on
pg488, #9 on pg419, #11 on pg447, #12 on pg440, & in #13 on pg551.
It has a nice tip and nice serrations down both blade edges. It
has nice flaking and symmetry. It appears to be made of Jasper.
It was in John Delime's
Collection and may be

is of the Stemmed variety and is beautifully serrated
down both edges of the blade. It has a well ground base
and nice symmetry. The material is still open for debate.
It has all the colors and texture of Horse Creek Chert but
may be an Agate and is beautifully mottled in shades of
Cream, Red, Tan, & Gray. It was found in Blount County,
Tennessee near Marysville, Tennessee. This is the
second Kirk that we have had from this Marysville, TN collection.
It is one of the most beautiful Kirks of this variety that I have
ever seen. I send this piece to Tom Davis for a cert and he

- Description: Carter Cave Kirk Corner Notch -
This piece came through Peter Allen. Supposedly from Bath County Ky. This piece got by me and was killed by Jerry Dickey who said "Nice piece of Carter, but showing no surface signs of age". This is the 2nd piece that we have removed from our web of this material. I do NOT believe it is Carter Chert based on many samples of the material that I have. It has inclusions, some of which have been cut through do the manufacturing process of the piece. These "inclusions appear to be mineral deposits. Under the scope they are not actually "on" the surface but part of the inclusions some of which are BELOW the surface of the artifact. It took this piece to Tom Davis to confirm what I thought and he said he did not like the piece and that he ALSO did not believe it to be Carter Chert. Returned to consigner.
