Description: Needle Tipped Tennessee Copena -  This Fine Needle tipped Copena is made from what the locals of area call Camden Chert. It was found by Ricky Johnson on river bank near Saltillo, Tennessee.  It has nice flaking and perfect symmetry.  Ex Melson, Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Description: HUGE Tennessee Copena Blade  - Here is a very large Copena or Copena knife made of Brown Dover or "Fort Dover" Chert.  It measures a full 5 inches long.  A very nice LARGE blade for the type.  (see photos)  It was found in Humphreys County, Tennessee and comes with a Tom Davis COA.  Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Description: Large Needle Tipped Copena Blade - This Extended tip was found in Tennessee.  It is large and well made with very good symmetry.  It has nice flaking and is eat up with deposits.

Description: Copena Cache - These three Copena's were found in Rockcastle County, Kentucky as a surface find in a washout in a tobacco patch.  They were all found in a 3 foot area, so we are selling them together.  The top and bottom ones are Hornstone and the middle one is Harrodsburg Chert or a variant Crinoid Quartz. All three are different material in origin.  All three are KY type Copena's.  Because they were found as a surface find, we cannot say for sure that they were a Cache, but it is likely they were once the property of one individual.( **NOTE**  Only two of the cache are included in this item #, The middle Copena is missing! )

Description: Fantastic Fort Payne Chert Copena Classic -  Here is a TRULY OUTSTANDING Copena Classic that is made from Highly Patinated Fort Payne Chert.  It has a highly defined "Shield Form".  It has a needle tip and well made flaring base.  It has VERY NICE Flaking and Excellent symmetry.  They just don't come along this good very often.  It has an old collection # 024 on it and also R.P. and the date 12-11-71.  The material says it comes from Tennessee or Southern Kentucky.  A Very Nice Copena.  It comes with a Tom Davis Certificate of Authenticity grading it a G-10.  Ex- Tom Davis, Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Item: FA575    *NEW*        KENTUCKY COPENA CACHE
Description: Cache of 20 Points and Blades - This Cache was recovered many years ago from a Rock Shelter in Lee County, Kentucky.  It originally consisted of 24 pieces.  Four were retained by the finder.  The blades appear to be Copena and the one that have been based appear to be of the Bakers Creek variety.  The Cache was the property of the late Wayne Johnson of Richmond, KY.  Several of the pieces retain the original numbers.  Materials include Fort Payne Chert, Boyle Chert, Knox Chert, a couple of different fossilifferous chert types, and at least one that I can't id.  This is a Very Nice, nearly intact Cache of related pieces that would make a great addition to any collection. Ex- Wayne Johnson, Ex- Tom Davis, Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Item: FW160 * NEW *     PICTURED IN OVERSTREET # 10 & # 11
Description: Buffalo River Chert Bottleneck Copena - This is a Flat out G-10 Copena if there ever was one.  It has almost perfect symmetry, nice color, and a needle tip!  It is made of colorful Buffalo River Chert and has a "bulls-eye" that show on both sides.  I got this classic Bottleneck Copena while surface hunting along the Tennessee River in Hardin County Tennessee with my friend John Gibson.  I purchased it from the finder who was also hunting there and had just found it.  It was found behind "Tater" Towheads farm in Hardin Bottoms, Hardin County, TN.  I have just decided to offer it for sale and took it to Tom Davis to paper for those of you who prefer a piece papered.  It comes with a Tom Davis COA, where it is graded a G-10. This is the 2nd time we have had the pleasure of offering this fine piece for sale on our web site.  From our personal collection Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Item: FW127   Fabulous Piece ! THIN PERFECT !
Description: Fantastic Two-Tone KY Copena G-10 - Here is one of the FINEST Kentucky Copena's you will see.  It is made of HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE Two-Tone Wayne County Chert, (a Hornstone).  IT has a needle tip, Excellent Flaking & symmetry and a nice Auriculate base.  The base is lightly ground.  It has a nice BIG bulls-eye in the center on BOTH sides.  (see photos).  You won't find a nicer Copena.  One of this quality and material is both pleasing to the eye and a great investment.  This FINE Copena was found by Tommy Whitaker in a plowed field in Pulaski County, KY in the early 1970's.  Tony Simpson acquired this piece from his 1st cousin shortly after and it has never been offered to the collector venue till now.  A rarely Beautiful piece!  Comes with a Tom Davis COA grading it a G-10 This piece is pictured in the NEW Overstreet # 11 on page # 384.   Ex- Tony Simpson

Description: KY Harrodsburg Chert Copena - This is a FINE example of a KY Copena.  It is made of Harrodsburg Chert which is a "Fossilifferous" Chert. All that holds this one back from being a G-10 is the ancient tip nick! It was a personal find of D. Travis in Estill County, KY.
